Position Title:

Engineer

Position Objectives:

To provide engineering services for electrical, instrumentation, control and data acquisition systems and to meet client project requirements.

Principal Responsibilities & Key Results Expected:

  • Primarily perform project- or task- specific work in a given engineering discipline of expertise. Generally work as part of a team under the direction of a senior or principal engineer, but should be capable of working independently as well.
  • Provide engineering assistance to other engineering personnel throughout the process of designing and troubleshooting electrical, instrument and control systems.
  • Assist in the design and development of all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment and machinery.
  • May be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC-based hardware and software.
  • Develop applications of controls, instruments and systems for new commercial and industrial uses.
  • Direct activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation and operational testing conform to functional specifications and client requirements.
  • Assist in the coordination of operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Participate as a team member focusing on various initiatives when requested.
  • Plan engineering and technical approaches to assignments. Analyze and interpret results of assigned projects.
  • Apply client or company standards and procedures in all the work that is performed.
  • Maintain frequent contact with counterparts to share any information necessary to efficiently complete projects.
  • Support the development of technical work scope and specifications for project applications.
  • Maintain a high level of technical competency in current technologies, product offerings and their application.
  • Assist other engineers in the development and monitoring of projects.
  • Participate in other duties as assigned.

Key Candidate Specifications:

  • Education/Experience — BS Engineering (EE, ME, ChE) or other technical degree; 0-2 years' experience in an engineering environment.
  • Knowledge — General industry process knowledge. Proficiency in functional area, specifically in proposal functions. Proficiency in the latest PC technology.
  • Analytical / Interpersonal Skills — Effective skills in organization and communication; excellent client presentation skills; skills in developing and writing specifications; the ability to succeed in a team environment; the ability to apply basic theory to practical business problems and / or to provide technical guidance and supervise others; the ability to set individual priorities.
  • Physical Demands — Exposure to general industrial office environments. Available to travel to different business locations.
