Gene Niewoehner joined MAVERICK in 2006. As director of environmental health and safety (EHS), Gene is responsible for implementing the company's EHS and wellness programs. As a result of his dedication, MAVERICK recorded zero recordable OSHA incidents in 2009. He has revised the complete EHS documentation and training curriculum and developed Web-based solutions for communicating and training EHS requirements. From a benefits management standpoint, he has coordinated negotiations with brokers regarding insurance coverage and worker's compensation. He has also coordinated facility-related requirements for the company's 35,000-square-foot World Headquarters.

Previously, Gene spent 20 years at Elementis Pigments, where he worked as director of operations, among other roles. He earned his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering at the University of Missouri–Rolla.

Gene has extensive executive leadership experience. He has dedicated time to earning his Project Management Certification through the SkillSoft Project Management Institute (PMI) and has completed the Six Sigma Champion Training and Live Lean Simulation and Lean Certification, among other distinguishing professional achievements.
