Jim Ford

Jim Ford is an engineering manager and consultant with 36 years of industry experience — 28 of those in the field of Advanced Process Control (APC) for domestic and international clients in the refining and chemical / petrochemical industries.

In his role as APC Business Leader, Jim assists the MAVERICK Business Development Managers for pursuit of domestic APC and related opportunities. Jim also pursues APC on a global basis, with customers in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. He provides consulting services in these areas, especially regarding process control analysis and APC definition and justification. He works out of MAVERICK's office in Baton Rouge, La., the home office for most of MAVERICK's APC engineers.

Jim has worked at MAVERICK since 2005, when he joined the team as director of Advanced Automation Solutions (AAS). Previously he worked as sales and marketing manager and general manager for C.F. Picou Associates, a small APC services group, in addition to other positions at various engineering firms.

Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He went on to earn master's and doctorate degrees in chemical engineering at Tulane University, and later an MBA at Syracuse University.

Outside of work, Jim enjoys singing in his church choir and wine tasting and collecting. He also is an active member of his local section of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).
