Tyrone Bowman is responsible for managing MAVERICK’s Pulp & Paper and Power business segments, developing consistent processes, driving growth and maintaining profitability. He works out of MAVERICK's Winston-Salem, N.C., office.

Tyrone joined MAVERICK through the company's acquisition of General Electric Automation Services (GEAS) in 2005. He had been a part of GEAS since 1986, where he was East Region Service Manager in charge of building the service business from the ground up. In 2004, he won an award at GEAS for having the highest volume of service business that year, surpassing all sales and revenue goals.

Tyrone earned his associate's degree in electronics engineering at Surry Community College and has continued to develop his education and career ever since. He has completed several courses covering a variety of topics, including the change acceleration process, professional employee management development, business skills for project managers, GE contract awareness risk exposure and the construction management process. Tyrone is also a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and Project Management Professional (PMP).

“My goal as a ‘maverick' is to effect change positively within the company and for our clients,” Tyrone says. “I am grateful to work for a company that will listen to what I have to say. MAVERICK provides a positive work environment where all employees have the ability to control their own destiny.”

Outside of work, Tyrone enjoys water sports, hunting, fishing and riding ATVs. He coaches and mentors his sons in their various sports activities, including football, track, motocross and waterskiing. He also finds time for charity events, such as cook-offs and golf events, for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and other scholarships.
