Senior Vice President, Operations
John Mills works out of MAVERICK’s world headquarters in Columbia, Illinois, and handles all responsibilities for automation services, field services, design and PlantFloor24 operations. He joined MAVERICK in February 2015 and has been focused on improving product execution and delivery. Through this effort, John has helped ensure routine processes are in place and followed so that our commitment to quality is never compromised. He has also helped develop a strategic partnership with the sales team to improve the coordination of activities between sales and operations. In addition, John plays a key role in identifying and developing our future leaders. His hands-on approach to talent management is second to none.
John earned his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology, and his MBA from the Rutgers University Executive MBA Program.
John spent most of his career at Anheuser-Busch InBev, holding numerous positions with increasing responsibility. After working as a plant engineer in the Williamsburg brewery, he spent time on the plant floor with responsibilities in both maintenance and operations. John was then promoted to resident engineer in the Newark brewery, where he was responsible for all engineering, maintenance and utility operations. From there, he became the operations manager in the St. Louis brewery, where he was accountable for all engineering, maintenance, packaging and shipping operations. He continued to progress throughout the brewery system as the assistant plant manager (LA brewery) and plant manager (Merrimack brewery).
After spending time in the breweries, John moved to corporate supply, where he was promoted to director of brewery operations and was responsible for all safety, quality, cost and production objectives for four U.S. breweries. He then assumed the responsibilities of the director of zone brewery support, where he had responsibility for all engineering, maintenance, packaging, utility and automation support for all North American AB InBev operations. Ultimately, John held the position of president of Metal Container Corporation, a wholly owned aluminum beverage manufacturing subsidiary, before taking an early retirement from AB InBev and joining MAVERICK Technologies.
