Larry Ray has responsibility for the strategic vision, oversight and direction of MAVERICK’s Human Resources, Safety, IT, Proposals & Estimating, Contracts Management and Performance Excellence teams. Additionally, Larry is the executive sponsor for multiple key clients, focusing on the overall relationships, and is a voice of commitment from MAVERICK on meeting their needs. He also provides strategic direction for managing projects associated with these clients. Larry held the role of VP of operations from 2007–2012, leading all operations for the Industrial Automation practices. He joined MAVERICK as the manager of the Proposal and Estimating Group in 2005, when the company acquired General Electric Automation Services (GEAS), where he had worked for seven years in various roles ranging from senior engineer to project manager.

A significant recent accomplishment for Larry is the founding and leadership of the Workforce Development team, focused on positioning MAVERICK as the employer of choice in the automation industry. The team was instrumental in capturing MAVERICK’s unique culture in written form to use as a differentiator. The team works to:

  • Position MAVERICK as the thought leader in workforce development, resulting in our becoming the employer of choice in our industry
  • Position our employees as a long-term competitive advantage
  • Improve the retention rate of pivotal and core resources
  • Improve the utilization of our resources

Larry earned his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering (BSEE) at Auburn University. Larry is also a registered professional engineer (PE) and a certified automation professional (CAP). He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the International Society of Automation (ISA).
