MAVERICK provides many roads to success.

One of the things our employees love best about working at MAVERICK is the potential for ongoing growth and development. See the different career paths our employees have taken and read the stories of how they got there.

Lynn Njaa, Senior Consultant

“Many people have asked me why I’ve worked at the same company for 25 years. My response is that I’ve always had opportunities to grow and do new things. I started at MAVERICK as a Designer I, doing instrument and electrical design on projects on CAD. Early on in my career, I learned how to layout graphics, program PLCs and distributed control systems (DCSs), and perform estimating, proposal and consulting work. Now in my current role as a Senior Consultant, I’ve experienced both the technical side of our business, as well as the commercial and strategic side. I’m very pleased at the level of balance of work/life I’ve been afforded. MAVERICK has a very supportive culture for technical and career growth. They have also been understanding that family comes first. For an employer to be flexible, patient and supportive when a hurricane hits your home or a family member is ill, it means the world. I’ve had the luxury of working with some great people. Co-workers in many locations across the country are eager to help, creating a supportive team environment. After all these years, I’m still growing and learning. What a blessing!”

Ram Ramamoorthy, Strategic Manufacturing Solutions Operations Manager

“I’ve been with MAVERICK for 15 years, starting in an engineering role and then moving to a project management position on up to my current role working as Operations Manager for the Sustaining Services business and Automation Solutions North. Along the way, MAVERICK has provided me with challenging opportunities and a great group of people to work with. The company promotes entrepreneurial and outside-the-box thinkers.”

John Cramer, Performance Excellence Manager

“Right after graduating from college, I joined the MAVERICK team in 2001 as an Engineer I. Throughout the past 17 years, MAVERICK has provided me with great opportunities to help me succeed and grow, allowing me to reach my full career potential. I have had the opportunity to work in several industries, starting in the food and beverage industry and then moving to the oil & gas industry. With MAVERICK’s support, I was able to attend night school earning a master’s degree in engineering management in 2006. I really enjoy working with all the great people at MAVERICK.”

Mike Gavin, Senior Director of Operations, Automation Solutions

“I first came to work for Paul Galeski in 1998 as a Senior Engineer with MAGNUM Technologies (which became GE Automation Services) where I eventually took on project management and then program management responsibilities for the Tate and Lyle account. In 2002, I moved over to MAVERICK Technologies® and have held several positions, including Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Regional Manager for the North Region, Director of Sustaining Services, Senior Director of Performance Excellence/IT, and Operations Manager for the North Region. In my current role as Senior Director of Operations, I manage the Automation Solutions business in North America, coordinating all 21 offices and 400+ staff. I enjoy working with all the great people at MAVERICK.

Abigail Jost, Engineer II

“Working at MAVERICK has opened many doors for me. Since joining the team in 2016, I have had the opportunity to work in multiple industries and get hands-on experience with various control system platforms. Additionally, I have been able to expand my skill sets outside of day-to-day duties through MAVERICK’s Mentor and Talent Lead programs. In my new role as a Talent Lead, I get to guide and mentor other young engineers as they grow in their own careers.

Dawn Lewis, Senior Project Manager

“I started my career with MAVERICK as an intern in 2002. For the next 16 years, I worked my way up doing various jobs as an engineer and then site manager until my current position as a Senior Project Manager. At each step along the way, I’ve been lucky to have worked with and learned from some great MAVERICKs. That’s one of the things I enjoy about working here – we all work together, putting our skills to use while learning from each other at the same time. The depth of knowledge among my co-workers, past and present, in offices throughout the country, is so impressive. I also love the work/life balance that I’ve been able to maintain with my family of five. I don’t miss out on the important stuff just because I’m a senior manager. I can honestly say family comes first at MAVERICK.”

Derek Hawkins, Regional Delivery Manager IS Americas

“What I feel makes MAVERICK different than other companies is the entrepreneurial spirit that the company encourages, starting at the executive level, in addition to the high level of integrity and vision for success. This has given me the opportunity and the confidence to push myself further and ask my leaders for added challenges when I felt I was ready to advance to the next level. MAVERICK has proven that if you put in the work and show the desire and ability to take on new challenges, they will support those moves and mentor you to be successful. Since starting at MAVERICK in 2006 as a mid-level engineer, I have taken on various roles between engineering leader for a large program to a senior project manager for a diverse portfolio across different industries and technologies. These roles ultimately opened the opportunity for me to lead the operations of MAVERICK’s enterprise integration business practice. Through our acquisition by Rockwell Automation, additional opportunities presented themselves into what is my current role as the Americas Regional Delivery Manager for Information Solutions. In this role, I am supporting the growth and alignment of both MAVERICK and Rockwell Automation resources to support the delivery of manufacturing execution systems and data/analytics solutions for North and Latin America.
