Mike Gavin, CAP, PMP® first came to work for Paul Galeski in 1998 as a Senior Engineer with MAGNUM Technologies (became GE Automation Services) where he eventually took on Project Management. In 2002, he moved over to MAVERICK Technologies and has held the positions of Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Regional Manager for the North Region, Director of Sustaining Services, Senior Director of Performance Excellence/IT, Operations Manager for the North Region, and Senior Director of Automation Solutions. In his current role as Business Manager, his focus is on coordinating all aspects of the MAVERICK business delivery model. He works from our world headquarters in Columbia, Illinois.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Saint Louis University and an MBA with a concentration in project management from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where he served for seven years as a member of their Project Management Advisory Board. Mike also served for two years as a member of the ISA CAP Steering Committee. The CAP Steering Committee of the Professional Development Department of ISA (International Society of Automation) oversees policies and practices of the Certified Automation Professional (CAP) program. The committee advises on how well the certification program is meeting policies and performance goals.
Before coming to work for MAGNUM Technologies (and subsequently MAVERICK), Mike worked as a Field Technician for an ink jet company and then as a Design Engineer with an EPC. He worked on projects with major manufacturers across North America.
